Welcome to Spring!!

Spring has officially arrived here in Chicago and the pear trees at the corner of Touhy and Sacramento are now in full bloom!

Birkas Hailanos can now be said when looking at the flowers on these trees or on any other flowering fruit tree.

The bracha recited is:

“Blessed are you Hashem, King of the world, who has nothing lacking in His world, and has created good creations and good trees for mankind to derive pleasure from.”
