The tragic events in Pittsburgh have spurred a renewed focus on security specifically is they relate to shul. While security has long been a focus and concern here at Yeshurun, we have joined the rest of the community with putting more of an emphasis on securing the physical plant of the shul than we have in the past.
We have recently learned of a matching grant that will help with securing needed funds for security. The Chicagoland JUF is releasing matching security funding limited to synagogues in the greater Chicago area. Successful applicants will receive 50% of their proposed project cost up to a maximum of $25,000 with synagogues committing the remaining resources. Thank you to every who has helped us reach our goal. We are now waiting to hear if we will receive the matching funds from the JUF.
